Showcase your black and mostly black dogs and cats with Best Friends’ Back in Black. This special adoption promotion focuses on helping black animals – traditionally harder to place – throughout the month of May. Nearly 200 partners are participating in this promotion for May 1-31, 2014, and they hope to top last year’s adoption numbers of over 3,000 animals who found homes during Back in Black in November 2013!
Registration is now closed, but keep an eye out to see the lifesaving results from this year’s Back in Black!
Best Friends will provide participating Network partners with marketing collateral to help promote their adoptions. Professionally designed, ready-to-use or editable materials will be available to download, such as a promotional flyer, web images, Facebook images and messages, banners, kennel tags, and much more. Additionally, a marketing kit filled with promotional flyers and kennel tags will be mailed to participating Network partners.
Austin Pets Alive in Austin, Texas, found homes for 62 cats and 57 dogs during Back in Black in November 2013!
“Black animals are so easily overlooked at our shelter, and those living in foster homes often don't photograph that well for our website. Having a national organization like Best Friends Animal Society bring awareness and excitement to these adoptable pets is a huge boost!” —Kristina Jakstas, donor relations manager

Lowering your adoption fees or having another adoption special during this promotion could mean more homes for animals in black, and will be noted on our national partner listing for this promotion. Last year during Back in Black, more than 85% of participating Network partners offered reduced-fee adoptions-and with over 3,000 adoptions, they must be on to something!
